1.4 Main Structural Components and Performance Description
1. Overall Structure
This product is mainly composed of the drive unit, shifting beam, transition trough, middle trough, scraper chain, tail section and left and right side guards.
2. Main Components and Working Principles
Drive Unit:The drive unit mainly consists of the motor, reducer, sprocket, head frame, tongue plate, blind shaft, and chain tensioner. A connecting cover integrates the motor and reducer. Power is transmitted from the motor to the sprocket via the reducer. The sprocket drives the scraper to form a closed, stepless drive chain, thereby achieving coal transportation.
3. Reducer
The reducer adopts a three-stage bevel and cylindrical gear transmission system, with a power transmission capacity of 40 kW and a transmission ratio of 24.564. To ensure proper operation of the bearings, the axial clearance must be properly adjusted:First shaft: 0.04-0.1 mm, Second shaft: 0.08-0.15 mm, Third shaft: 0.07-0.15 mm, Fourth shaft: 0.2-0.4 mm.The axial position of the bevel gear should also be adjusted to ensure proper backlash and tooth contact area. The backlash should not be less than 0.17 mm, and the contact area along the tooth length and height should not be less than 50%. Axial clearance of the first shaft is adjusted with a nut; the second, third, and fourth shafts are adjusted using shims.
4. Sprocket
The sprocket is integrated with a semi-drum and transmits power to the scraper chain.
5. Head Frame
The head frame is assembled by welding side plates, base plates, and other components. The side plates are used to fix the reducer and blind shaft assembly, and the rear end is connected to the transition trough.
6. Blind Shaft
Composed of a bearing seat and blind shaft, its main function is to support the sprocket.
7. Chain Tensioner
The chain tensioner consists of an eccentric wheel, housing, brake band, brake wheel, and other components. It tightens the scraper chain by clamping the brake wheel with the brake band, working together with the tensioning hook.
8. Transition Trough
Welded from channel steel and center plate, it serves as the transitional connection between the head frame and the middle trough.
9. Middle Trough
An essential part of the scraper conveyor, composed of channel steel, center plate, and connecting pins. Middle troughs are connected longitudinally using pins.

10. Scraper Chain
Assembled from round link chains, scrapers, connecting links, and bolts. The scraper is made of rolled steel and contacts the center plate of the trough on its slanted side to perform the coal-scraping function. The protruding part of the connecting link provides guiding support.
11. Tail Section
Composed of the tail frame and tail shaft, this is the guiding mechanism for the returning scraper chain. A dual-drive configuration can also be used, where both the head and tail sections are powered, extending the conveyor length up to 160 meters.
Note: In dual-drive mode, only one set of electrical control devices can be used. Ensure the head and tail drive units are synchronized before startup. Failure to do so may result in scraper chain breakage or damage to the drive components.
12. Left and Right Side Guards
The conveyor is typically not equipped with side guards at the time of delivery. If required by the user, they can be specially ordered.
1.5 Operation and Maintenance
1.Operators must follow the instructions provided in the user manual.
2.Ensure the reducer contains the specified amount of lubricating oil, and all seals must be free of leakage.
3.Start the machine before loading coal; do not start under load.
4.Regularly check the tension of the scraper chain. Replace the chain promptly if slack is found.
5.Inspect all connecting bolts to ensure they are complete and properly tightened, especially:Reducer housing bolts,Bolts connecting the reducer to the coupling casing,Bolts connecting the coupling casing to the motor, Scraper chain bolts
Tighten or replace any missing or loose bolts immediately.
6.Frequently remove excess coal around the head section to avoid it being drawn into the lower trough and increasing resistance.
7.Regularly monitor the operation of the reducer. If abnormal conditions such as excessive noise, high temperature, or oil leakage are observed, take corrective actions immediately. During maintenance, all components should be adjusted according to the specified procedures.
8.Lubrication must be performed regularly at all lubrication points:
(1) Lubricate reducer bearings during maintenance (use GB/T492 sodium-based grease)
(2) Change the gear oil inside the housing every 3 months; fill to 1/3 of the bevel gear immersion depth (use GB/T5903 industrial closed gear oil)
(3) Lubricate motor bearings during maintenance (GB/T492 sodium-based grease)
(4) Lubricate the first shaft bearing of the reducer once a month (GB/T492 sodium-based grease)
(5) Lubricate the blind shaft bearing once a month (GB/T492 sodium-based grease)
(6) Lubricate the tail shaft bearing once a month (GB/T492 sodium-based grease)
1.6 Transportation and Storage
1.During hoisting and transportation, avoid rough handling. Important components such as the drive unit and tail assembly should be placed horizontally, and no other parts should be stacked on top to prevent damage. Precision components like the reducer and motor must be placed stably to avoid collisions and damage during handling or transport. Middle troughs and scraper chains may be placed separately but must be securely fastened.
2.During storage, protective measures against rain and snow must be taken. Avoid outdoor storage.
1.7 Unpacking and Inspection
When checking the goods, verify each item against the packing list. If any items are missing or damaged, please contact the supplier promptly.
